Climate Strike at the Capitol

The Iowa Environmental Council hosts several events throughout the year, including our Environmental Lobby Day during legislative session and Pro H₂O in the spring.

We also host and participate in other members-only and open events throughout the year including clean-ups; water monitoring; wind, solar and water tours; house parties; receptions and more. To submit an event to be considered for our calendar, please click here.

The climate strikes will be conducted inside the capitol building. You can park on Finkbine Dr, then enter the capitol building through the West side doors. Please be prepared to go through security check/scan. We encourage you to create your own sign, poster or banner. Please make sure these banners do not contain wooden sticks. Posters, banners and signs will not be permitted inside capital building with wooden sticks. All of these strikes will occur while the legislators are in session. Please contact anyone that you think would be interested in attending!
