2020 Legislative Session
Iowa's 2020 Legislative Session will begin on January 13, 2020.
The Iowa Environmental Council plans to advance a full slate of priorities for energy, water, and climate at the Capitol, which are developed with the input of our partners, stakeholders, and members.

Thank you for your input and action last year to advance important legislation and stop bad bills in their tracks. Thanks to your voice, last year, we decimated a bad land acquisitions bill and stopped a dangerous tax on solar users!
IEC Keeps You Connected
Our staff, trained citizen lobbyists, and volunteers and stakeholders were at the Capitol tracking bills, building coalitions, gathering stakeholders, and advancing the protection of Iowa's environment.

IEC Legislative Events
Each year, IEC hosts individuals and organizations from across the state at the Iowa State Capitol for Environmental Lobby Day. Environmental Lobby Day was March 21, 2019. Dozens were in attendance and 24 organizations exhibited. IEC will hold the next Environmental Lobby Day on March 11, 2020.
