2018 Legislative Session
The 2018 session adjourned on Saturday, May 5, 2018. IEC stayed busy at the Capitol, as bills progressed through the legislature. There were some difficult challenges, including the terrible SF 2311, but some wins as well. Read a summary of SF 2311, as well as our 2018 Legislative recap.

During session, we invite IEC members and supporters to reach out to legislators or key policy-makers regarding legislation through our action alert system. Five action alerts were sent in the 2018 session.

Each year, diverse individuals and organizations from across the state come together at the Iowa State Capitol for Environmental Lobby Day and REAP Day at the Capitol. The event is hosted by the Iowa Environmental Council. Environmental Lobby Day was on March 22. Learn more here.
