From clean energy to clean water, there are many intersections between environment and public health, and language plays an important role in communicating the public health perspective. Join the Iowa Public Health Association for a workshop that will use real world examples to explore how health literacy affects health. The Iowa Public Health Association is an Iowa Environmental Council member.
This workshop, featuring Dr. Holli Seabury, CEO of McMillen Health, will work with real-world examples to explore how health literacy affects health.
- Get up-to-speed on health literacy research, the importance of health literate communication, and its impact on health.
- Understand how organizations unintentionally create health literacy barriers; be part of the solution, not the problem.
- Bring your organization’s materials and begin workshopping them on site; leave the workshop with more powerfully communicated health messages.
