Volunteer with INHF for National Public Lands Day at Strasser Woods in Des Moines on Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the largest single-day volunteer effort for America’s public lands. Each year, hundreds of thousands of volunteers come together on the fourth Saturday in September nationwide to assist with various projects designed to restore and enhance public parks, forests, waterways and more.

This year’s national theme is connecting to nature through service. Together, we will celebrate restoring our watershed, improving outdoor recreation opportunities and building community by sweeping the creek and adjacent trails and greenway of litter.

Registration is required for this event. Register through the City of Des Moines. Deadline to register for a shift is September 21.

Register today!

Please bring:

  • Clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, long pants and closed-toe shoes
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Waders and gloves (a limited amount will be provided).

Details: No experience is necessary and families are welcome.

Questions? Contact INHF Volunteer Coordinator, Melanie Louis, at mlouis@inhf.org or 515-288-1846, ext. 35.
