Reducing exposure to lead in drinking water is an important initiative for communities across the country. EPA’s "Protect Your Tap: A Quick Check for Lead", is an online educational guide that walks homeowners and renters through finding their service lines and identifying the visible service line material. It also provides tips about reducing exposure to lead in drinking water and finding certified laboratories to test their water. In addition to the guide, the web page provides outreach toolkits with ready-made materials for promoting Protect Your Tap.
