Fire & Ice presented by GreenState Credit Union is Beat the Bitter’s free family day and it’s all about the fire and the ice. All programming is free. Bundle up and join us at Penn Meadows Park, 170 N Dubuque St. Parking is available in Penn Meadows Park’s north and south lots and along nearby residential streets.

4 to 7 p.m.
Take a horse-drawn carriage ride (carriage rides will end at 7 p.m. to allow the horses to depart the park before the 8 p.m. fireworks)

4 to 8 p.m.

Admire nine creations on the Ice Sculpture Walk (illuminated beginning at 5 p.m.)
Warm up around enjoy s’mores around our community bonfire.
Be wowed by fire breathing, juggling and spinning performances every 20 minutes, and other performers roaming the event with LED props.
Meet and take your picture with Frozen’s Olaf, a polar bear and a penguin as they roam throughout the park.
Take a spin on Scheels Ice Rink. Bring your own skates or check a pair out for free at the event.
Step inside a giant inflatable snow globe for one-of-a-kind photo.
Stroll up and down the park trail for the library’s two-sided StoryWalk.
Fill up with a stop at Marcos Grilled Cheese and George’s Best Gyros food trucks (for purchase)
Receive giveaways and play games from event sponsors:
