Join the UI Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research, the UI Center for the Health Effects of Environmental Contamination and UI Public Policy Center are hosting a one day symposium on Extreme Weather in Iowa at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m.
The goal of the symposium is to bring together constituencies affected by extreme weather events in Iowa and share information regarding prevention, response, monitoring, and long-term recovery.
Topics include:
- An overview of weather trends in Iowa
- Panel discussion on extreme heat
- Equity considerations
- Panel discussion on flooding
- Panel discussion among policy-makers
Registration fee is $25.00, $10.00 for students showing a valid university i.d.
