Try Fishing - Iowa City Parks and Recreation

Get hooked on fishing at the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department's Try Fishing kids' event! This new event will cover fishing basics and families will also enjoy other fish-related activities, including gyotaku fish painting, fish short stories, and a casting game. Bait and poles will be provided. Try Fishing is ideal for elementary-aged youth.

This free event will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 at the large pond in Lower City Park (200 Park Rd.). Please check in at Shelter #7. Pre-registration is not required.

Parents are asked to assist and supervise children at all stations. Iowa DNR and the Iowa City Public Library will also be facilitating this event!
