Join the Center for Energy & Environmental Education (CEEE) and the Center for Health Effects of Environmental Contamination (CHEEC) for a special program in Ames.
Carmi Orenstein with Concerned Health Professionals of New York (an initiative by health
professionals, scientists, and medical organizations for raising science-based concerns about the impacts of fracking on public health and safety) will lead a discussion on the successes and challenges of organizing health care professionals around environmental health issues,
and how to apply these lessons to Pesticides in Iowa.
Purpose: To develop a shared understanding of the public health issues related to pesticide use, and to work collaboratively to find ways to reduce their application in Iowa.
