Solar Shines: Updated Siting Ordinances for Local Officials

On January 9, IEC hosted a review of solar siting best practices for local officials outlined in the Iowa Solar Siting Resource Guide: Best Practices for Counties.

The webinar covered what goes into a good solar ordinance including process, treatment in zoning districts, setbacks, infrastructure, and decommissioning. The guide also includes guidance on how to best pair solar with native vegetation and pollinator habitat.
