Office Manager and Bookkeeper Kitty Jacobson |
The Iowa Environmental Council is pleased to introduce office manager and bookkeeper Kitty Jacobson. Kitty joined the Council in early January. As the Council’s office manager and bookkeeper, Kitty oversees the organizations’ financial accounting and reporting, payroll, benefits, vendor relations and office administration.
“The Council is quite fortunate to gain an experienced professional and wonderful person in Kitty Jacobson,” said Executive Director Ralph Rosenberg. “She has already proven herself to be an incredible asset to this organization, and is integral to our success.”
Prior to joining the Council, Kitty was vice president of sales and administration at a book publishing company for 14 years. Kitty also runs a private bookkeeping company for small businesses and independent contractors, and is the director of advertising for a quilting industry magazine.
“The Council has been a perfect fit. The mission aligns with my personal beliefs, combines many of the professional skills I’ve developed over the years, and the internal office environment and culture was appealing,” said Kitty. “I’ve had so many amazing people supporting me throughout my career. Now I can be that person here and contribute to work that makes a difference in the community,”
Kitty, who originally hails from Stillwater, MN, has called Des Moines home for more than 35 years. Outside of work, she enjoys quilting and knitting, is an avid gardener and reader, and has a passion for Middle Eastern cuisine – especially Lebanese.
