Annual Conference returns for 2024

posted on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Council News

IEC is excited to announce that the organization's celebrated annual conference is returning this fall! After a five-year hiatus, we're bringing back our day-long educational and networking event for Iowans to learn and engage on issues ranging from water quality, renewable energy, environmental justice, federal funding opportunities and more.

The full agenda is still in the works, but the big pieces are set. We're planning an inspiring keynote from Dr. Benjamin Pauli with Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, author of Flint Fights Back: Environmental Justice and Democracy in the Flint Water Crisis for a first-hand account of the Flint water crisis and his experience of how activism can inform and transform democratic institutions.

We'll gather for this keynote presentation, a day of engrossing panel discussions and presentations, an exhibitor hall, and more at the beautiful Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden on Friday, September 27. Watch for many more details in the coming weeks!

Sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities are open. Sign up now to be a part of the event! Have questions? Contact us at iecmail@iaenvironment.org
