Raihan Amir Rashidi

Raihan joined was with the Council as a Clean Energy Field Organizer and Energy Campaign Coordinator from 2019-2022. Raihan worked on 100% Iowa, IEC’s grassroots initiative to expand on the state’s clean energy movement. She engaged multiple stakeholders in communities across Iowa to help advance bold and equitable clean energy commitments. Her experiences include community and business outreach, sustainable transportation, food insecurity, state climate policy, and environmental justice. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy and a minor in Sustainability from the University of California, Berkeley.

    100% Iowa hosted a Renewable Readers book reading for kids this summer, reading the book "Energy Island." The young readers discussed the book, ways to bring those ideas into their homes, and their thoughts on the importance of our clean energy future.

  • Collective Action Has Power

    Like a number of other organizations, we at 100% Iowa, a program of the Iowa Environmental Council, have been transitioning our clean energy work to the digital space. In April, we organized the online Renewable Readers: A Virtual Book Club Event, and the lessons learned remain important any day of the year.
