Raihan Amir Rashidi

Raihan joined the Council in 2019 as the Clean Energy Field Organizer. Born and raised in Malaysia, she has traveled to many places and moved to California for college before residing in Des Moines, IA. Raihan worked with a bike coalition in Oakland, CA where she gained experience in community outreach, event management and sustainable transportation. Currently, as a field organizer, Raihan focuses on building relationships with individuals and organizations to get them to participate and advocate for 100% clean energy in Iowa. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy and a minor in Sustainability from UC Berkeley. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, dancing, and solving word search puzzles.

  • Collective Action Has Power

    Like a number of other organizations, we at 100% Iowa, a program of the Iowa Environmental Council, have been transitioning our clean energy work to the digital space. In April, we organized the online Renewable Readers: A Virtual Book Club Event, and the lessons learned remain important any day of the year.
