Jordan Bles worked with IEC as the Director of Fundraising and Development from 2019 - 2024. from his most recent position as the Director of Development for the National Benevolent Association, supporting its mission to “create communities of compassion and care”.
Previously, Jordan was Director of Development for the National Benevolent Association, supporting its mission to “create communities of compassion and care”, as well as Assistant Director of the Eco-Justice Program of the National Council of Churches in Washington, D.C., where he worked on policy related to public land protection, clean water, and environmental justice. He also gained fundraising experience as campaign manager and finance director for a congressional race in Kentucky.
Jordan is a Des Moines resident and, when not working, can be found doing some kind of movement - lifting weights, running, cycling, yoga, and being outside as much as possible.
When I started at IEC in 2019, one of my first lunch meetings was with Jennifer Garst. She was someone who I knew a little bit about - her legacy through Whiterock Conservancy, her former board service to the Iowa Environmental Council, and her history of generous donations. What I didn't know was that Jennifer's spirit of giving extended well beyond her monetary support of IEC, and that this was just the first of many meetings that I would start to greatly look forward to.
